2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 1/2 Nutmegs, whole; grated
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg
3/4 cup plus 1 tbsp whole milk
3/4 cup plus 1 tbsp heavy cream
5 tablespoons butter, melted
1/3 cup sliced almonds
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Preheat oven to 400º F. Grease muffin tins.
1. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, nutmeg and salt in a medium-size bowl and mix well.
2. Beat egg in a small bowl, then stir in cream, milk and butter. Combine wet and dry ingredients. Don't over-mix.
3. Spoon batter two-thirds full in each muffin cup. Mix cinnamon and brown sugar. Top muffins with almonds and sprinkle lightly with cinnamon/sugar.
Bake for 15- 20 minutes, or until tops are lightly golden. Be careful with the baking, as these muffins can become dry!
